Luisa Chair
Franco Albini (1949/55)
It took almost fifteen years to develop a final version able to meet all the Master’s demands. The purity of the composition is highlighted by an increased thickness at the joints and by flush-fitting and aligning, which illustrate the expressiveness of a new language. These are the elements that make the Luisa chair a piece of timeless historic value, and the winner of La Rinascente-Compasso d’Oro prize in 1955.

The backrest and seat have a steel frame and polyurethane foam padding. Wood frame available in walnut stained mahogany, natural ashwood or ashwood stained slate color.

I would say this is good design: The back reclines AND the seating is angled backward AND visually the back and the top of the back and the legs are in one line, so it is not likely you hit the backlegs with your toe when you walk past it.
