Slacker Chair by Fredrik Olsson

So somewhere between perfecting your gnome’s damage spells and trolling for a “lucky lady” on myspace, you managed to win the national lottery. Yay for you! So what is the first item you purchase to commemorate your new adventures into nouveau riche displays of ostentation? Of course, this beautiful one-of-a-kind video game inspired chair by Fredrik Olsson. Exhibited at the 2008 Stockholm Furniture Fair, this low rider luxo-lounger has the perfect dimensions for kicking back in alternate dimensions, while at the same time impressing your friends with your one-level-above-Ikea design sense and ability to point out irony. “The Slacker” chair features intricately cut, solid wood arms, foretelling your eventual demise in not only your Second Life, but your first life as well! Mwah-ha-ha-ha…Game Over.

Nobody Chair by Komplot

Stockholm Furniture Fair 08: Nobody chair

The Nobody Chair was one of the winners at the forum AID awards held last week in Stockholm. It is produced by the Danish company HAY and designed by Komplot in 2007. The stackable design is made from a single process of thermo-pressing a PET felt. The simplicity of the process allows the chair to be stable without any glue, resin, screws or reinforcements. In addition the PET felt is a 100% recyclable material that is made primarily from used PET bottles.
