Introducing a new feature on Chair Blog: Clipmarks.

Wy?

  1. Clipmark enables you to clip part of a web page and copy it to your blog
  2. You can create your own header. This is not easy with Tumblr.
  3. While clipping, you can very precisely choose the order of clippings and what you clip.
  4. The whole clipped part is clearly visible as a clip. You don’t put your readers on the wrong foot anymore: They can see what you Clipped and what you added yourself.
  5. If you want to add more observations to a clip you can leave the clip as it is and simply add more stuff before or after the Clip while the clip remains as it is, a clip.

I’m sure It will enhance the productivity of this two finger blogger. Looking forward to explore it further.

Update December 2011:

Originally there was a Clip to Blog here.

However, as with all curating tools, Clipmark has a clear disadvantage: Their servers may be down or cut off entirely. Then this blog’s precious content goes astray. This happened recently so I landed again on this page after I got a broken link signal. I decided to weed out all clips….pffff blogging is hard.

Update March 2012:

In December it seemed Clipmark was wobbly only and sometimes worked well. Moreover, at December 29, 2012 we experienced a huge outage of 9.5 hours here which led to another change of hosting company.

Now, all of a sudden, it appears Clipmark ceased service all together without any form of announcement in advance….Very unprofessional. Anyway, now I’m catched with my pants down because there are still many Clip marked posts to be restored…

Sexy ‘Naked’ Lounge Chair d’Amore – by Rusell Grigg

I overlooked a comment to my About page.
While installing the new Thesis theme it drew my attention again.

Thanks for the great collection of amazing chairs. I am a new designer and passionate about chairs in particular. I wanted to add one of my own, my very first piece called Chez Banc d’Amore. Check it out at: Chez Banc [Ed: Site disappeared since]. It has just been selected for inclusion at the “young designers fair” at Interieur 08 in Kortrijk, Belgium. I am extremely honoured to be the first Australian designer invited to attend the young designers fair.
I look forward to watching this space in future.
Best regards
Russell Grigg

Sorry Russell, sometimes things need time. Hope this post makes good for the omission.

Here you see Russell on his chair with black leather cover. It shows the dimensions and demonstrates it can easily function as a love seat for two.

About Russell Grigg
Russel is a globe trotting drummer and percussionist and lawyer who lives and works in Potts Point, Australia and formed Chez Banc Designs as his own brand.

About The Naked Lounge Chair d’Amore
The aircraft grade single sheet acrylic chair is available in a translucent version which to me is the most “naked”, but also in several colors including solid black. The chair is suitable for indoor and outdoor use. Covers for indoors and outdoors are available in all varieties including a Union Jack.

Chair Who? Chair Whore!

Chair Whore logo

That’s the wonderful thing of blogging: You browse, you share, people start to find you, they link to you, they blogrol you. You reciprocate as much as possible – at least I try to do so at my press page. They start copying stuff you’ve published, and the word spreads and spreads and spreads. Slowly but gradually. Sometimes they find you, if you haven’t found them already.

Today I looked into my blog’s stats and, out of the blue, I found incoming traffic from…who? Yes! I couldn’t believe my eyes: From Chair Whore! As Jamie from Mediarosa commented on Swiss Miss who found Chair Whore a couple of days ago:”I’m always amazed when someone can make such a singular pursuit without apology. Yay for chair whores everywhere!“. I concur, Jamie, and I love your woo theme find! Have to look into it:-) Am using the Thesis theme on the significant other blog, but hesitant about using it here.

Chair Whore is an offspring of the Blue Ant Studio blog of Miami, Florida, based Joel and Maria Pirela, which in turn has an sister Blue Art Studio blog. The photo is pinched from their blogger profile.

Until now I had been sitting on my hands not to start a “Chair Porn” series of photos I took in February of a fantastic exhibition of Ron Arad chairs in Paris. I believe I dare to do it now. Thank you Chair Whore!

Off topic observations:

  1. There is a strange find when you do a Chair Whore Google: You get this a strange PDF document, referring to Dutch Colonial past, where an OCR error occurred: The document starts as follows:
“I think, Lady Chair, I don’t know quite where to start”
    which is garbled into:
“[PDF] I think, Lady Chair, X don’t knar quite whore to start. hcrirould …” .
    LOL
  2. Read the Urban Dictionary definition
  3. Finally, because I’m a bit reading about SEO for bloggers, I noticed that during the afternoon Swiss Miss was overtaken in Google by several others. Now I’m curious what happens when I post this:-)[update 11.56pm it landed just above Swiss Miss in the Chair Whore Google Search]

::UN:: A follower of Chairblog|Tumblr and Fractal Chairs

::UN:: asks whether I was aware of the Fractal Chairs. No I wasn’t, but now I am, as I found his post when looking it up at now defunct Google Link search at Google.

I am in the process of discontinuing and gradually diminishing Chairblog|Tumblr: Adding its posts here and deleting them there….

I’m linking to ::UN::, as one of the disadvantages of Tumblr is it has no comment possibility. So I cannot comment that I was not aware of the post. Maybe ::UN:: will find this post sometimes when he tracks this post when looking up his trackbacks.

Another disadvantage of Tumblr is it doesn’t provide for an easy search function, while WordPress does.
