CH445 Wingchair by Hans Wegner

In 1960 Wegner released his soon to be famous CH445 Wingchair in limited quantities. In 2006 Carl Hansen & Sons dusted off the blue prints and reintroduced the lounge chair to immediate success and awards at the IMM in Cologne, and the Copenhagen International Furniture Fair that same year. Today the wingchair is what Hans Wegner envisioned it to be and then some reaching true furniture icon status and a place in the homes and hearts of modern furniture lovers world wide. According to Carl Hansen & Sons we have worked with Wegners original drawings and some of the few pieces that remain from the sixties, when a smaller number of them were produced by hand. And we’re proud to say that we have upheld the original construction and materials – including solid beech frames and hand-sewn piping – just the way that Wegner designed it. If you want furniture that will last in not only quality of construction, but style as well, the licensed modern classics are the way to go.

Birdy Chair

Each birdy chair is handmade of wood, liana and leather. The dried liana is made flexible and easy to handle by hot water steam and wrapped on the frame made of wood. When the liana is dried again it is very strong and hard to break. The birdy chair is available in real leather and artificial leather. The measurements are 134 cm x 121 cm x 127 cm, and manufacturing time for each Birdy chair is about 100 to 120 hours

Circumflex by Zoe Mowat

Circumflex by Zoe Mowat Design

Circumflex is my own interpretation of the “accent chair.” Similar to a circumflex used in punctuation, the chair represents a lively change in tone. Circumflex makes a statement with its dynamic yet refined form, unique proportions and unusual combination of materials. This prototype is the first member of a series of chairs, bar stools and benches with similar playful proportions. Circumflex can be produced in a multitude of lively colors and wood finishes which can easily adapt to any space or context.
