Inscribed on the reverse: 1. In NYC I saw some paintings by Cindy Sherman and William Wegman. I’d left behind some thrift store paintings including this city scape with phalanxes of eyeball & flower headed people talking w eyes on stalks coming out of his palms. 2. I was writing down ideas on the gallery floor & thought of having texts inside croquet goals with hallmark “studio” card figures playing the game. 3. In a thrift store was a row of 4 chairs joined together with mannequin parts & mirrors and another row of 3 objects together. I couldn’t fit them into my car. 4. Near my folks house, Nancy Evans, Kosamund and I find a garbage can filled with tiny paintings. 5. After seeing a crowd gather around an argument on Ashman street, I got on an elevator which got stuck then opened up to a woman wearing a giant Peter Max Face outfit. 6. In a parking garage there was a statue with flaming hair. In the background a band played & Mike was usuing a wrench to blow cars up. Provenance Patrick Painter, Santa Monica Acquired from the above by the present owner
