I found this blog Concretely by Danish architect Anne-Mette Manelius. As she shares part of her name with my daughter she earns a plus. She is also obsessed by concrete. So obsessed that she wrongly claims concrete is the “most used building material in the world”. That, Anne-Mette, is not true, as the most used building material in the world is adobe, or simple clay or earth.
Nevertheless Anne-Mette has created a concrete chair whereby she has formed it as if it is an upholstered chair covered with a soft fabric, the texture of which she has applied to the concrete. Mind Boggling Indeed.
Wow, this looks fantastic! It looks like it’s a soft chair, totally!
That is clever! I like the contrast of the hard concrete and soft fabric details.
– hi, I just stumbled upon your post – thank you – and well, let’s just say that concrete is the most widely used man-made material then. The chair and other design pieces from a bunch of other designers will be published soon by Laurence King– in a DIY furniture design book: http://www.laurenceking.com/product/DIY+Furniture%3A+A+Step-by-Step+Guide.htm. Ciao Anne-Mette
