A week after I received the book More than 999 new and forgotten (arm) chairs I received The Big Sofa Book from Peter van Zoetendaal.
Like the 999 (Arm) chair book I had inspired Peter, who is a Chair/Sofa designer himself, to create this A4 format book with 4 sofa’s on each page with a personal note of Peter about designer, manufacturer or brand of the sofa.
I use it as an inspiration for further posts.

Big Sofa is a stone skipping across the surface of a lake, or flying saucers transformed into a carneval ride.
Big Sofa is creative freedom and design discipline. Big Sofa springs from the desire to create an ultra cozy, relaxing dream island on which one can seriously camp out.
It is a series of freestanding elements which fit perfectly into an organic system, because a big sofa is nothing less than a place for individuals to meet and socialize.Big Sofa is a discontinued series, but it is still manufactured on request.

CHEW is a deconstructed, unconventional couch, obtained by assembling three geometric elements that seem to come together almost by chance, quite the same way toybricks are matched by kids. The deep seat can also be used as a single bed.
