Probably Hanes Harms, a German industrial designer who graduated from Wuppertal and the Lodon Royal Academy of Art doesn’t want to be remembered as the designer of the Scum Stool…What’s in a name? I’ll tell you:Both in German Schaum and in Dutch Schuim have several alike meanings : Foam and Scum. Hence the name I presume.

Paper Tube Chair
This eco-friendly chair by Manfred Kielnhofer is made from used cardboard tubes, which which are made from recycled paper. The chair has retained the same good condition since its production. This is a use of cardboard tubes that I’ve never seen before (besides children’s use of paper towel cardboard tubes as pretend kaleidoscopes or megaphones).
