Chair 16 by David Hsu
After spending the summer studying Scandinavian Furniture Design in Copenhagen, Stockholm and Helsinki, this chair takes cues from Poul Kjaerholm and Hans J. Wegner. The skeleton is made of steel tube and the seating surface woven with flag halyard.

David Hsu is a student of life: inspired and influenced by environments and the people within. Born in Taiwan, raised in New Zealand, he received a Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Columbia University in the City of New York. While dabbling on design as a hobby, he accumulated years of experience specializing in information technology for individuals and small businesses in the fields of design and photography. Longing to make a more meaningful impact on the world, he returned to school and received a master’s degree in Industrial Design from the Pratt Institute.
Based in Waseca, Minnesota, David is currently working in New York. He is open to collaborating on projects that seeks to surprise and delight the human experience in product or furniture design or even one-off custom furniture pieces.
