Melitea
Through the juxtaposition of industrial materials and a special attention to comfort, Melitea lounge chair aims to present itself as a new classic. A linear metal structure, running from the legs up to support the back, stands as a distinctive element of the design. Two enveloping shells for the seat and the backrest echo of a timeless elegance, while their pattern made by circular holes adds a modern architectural flare, functioning also as a grid where to attach additional paddings, making Melitea to be suitable both for indoor and outdoor environments.
NICHETTO STUDIO
In 2006 Luca Nichetto founded a multidisciplinary design studio in Venice, Italy, which specialised in industrial design, product design and design consultancy. From the very beginning, this studio collaborated with a number of different brands and organisations, quickly expanding its influence far beyond Venice and Italy’s borders. Five years later, in 2011, Nichetto opened a second studio in Stockholm, Sweden. This practice was founded in response to an ever growing number of requests for collaboration from international companies, with the studio’s work also broadening out from its initial focus on designed objects. Nichetto Studio has since expanded into areas such as interior design and architecture.
Today, Nichetto Studio works with a variety of brands and clients from all around the world, and its expertise is sought out across all design disciplines. A deep passion for, and knowledge of, industrial and craft manufacturing processes runs through every aspect of the studio’s work. Nichetto Studio’s projects abound in carefully selected cultural references and a keen attention to detail. The practice’s unique position within both Scandinavian and Italian design culture has given Nichetto Studio worldwide recognition. Appreciation of its work extends far beyond the confines of the design industry.

At the Artifort Boot IMM Cologne: Pala Lounge Chair and Ottoman by Luca Nichetto
The Algon lounge chair was developed by Luca Nichetto and Arflex simultaneously with the Algon chair, mixing the Scandinavian simplicity with quilted padding. Unlike the Algon Chair that has a strict form, the Algon lounge chair has high sides, which allow you to have the necessary privacy and is perfect for a quiet night conversation or a solitary moment of respite. The Algon name is inspired by the North American Algoquian tribes.
Both armchairs structures are made of molded polyurethane foam. The inner lining can be enriched by a quilt, which gives a pleasant feeling of warmth; The seat cushion is shaped in different density polyurethane.
Found at Arflex
In 1947, a group of technicians based in Pirelli, Italy, began experimenting with new materials and technologies in the creation of cutting-edge, modern furniture. This was the beginning of the Arflex brand, established on the meeting of technology and aesthetic sensibilities, and driven by a high level of research and experimentation. Officially presented to the public in 1951, Arflex quickly gained recognition for their manufacturing philosophy.
