Turkish design studio Autoban has a strange name. Their logo is the German sign for Motorway (Autobahn). However without the ‘h’ it could mean Ban the Car. Am curious whether it is on purpose. Anyway they have an ample portfolio of seating furniture among which this nest lounge chair. Another variation on the High Back Beach chair I’m a particular fan of.

Early Westport Chair

Found this photo of an early Westport Chair somewhere on the web. Also found DIY instuctions at This Old House‘s site, maybe to peruse myself.

The Westport Chair was first built by Thomas Lee of Westport, New York, for his family home, but it was Harry Bunnell who patented the design 5 years after Thomas built it and produced it until the 1930ies.

Barnacle Chair by Ania Wagner Design

This might not look like a chair, but it is! And a sustainable one at that: Barnacle by Ania Wagner is made using harvested ash and reclaimed industrial felt.
