Tolix’ A56 Armchair in Lingerie Campaign

The famous A56 armchair designed by Jean Pauchard in 1934 for Tolix is featured in the luxury lingerie brand Agent Provocateur‘s Spring/Summer-2011 campaign. The face of the newest collection is curvatious beauty Josephine de La Baume, a French actress and singer.

P.S. And just in case the photo above is not enough and you want to see the chair (or is it Josephine that you want to see more of?) in “action”, I suggest you check out the campaign at the AP website for some interesting jiggling gif pictures… I know you want to, so don’t be shy and click away! Piet Mondrian Seated in his Paris StudioPiet Mondrian on a chair in his studio in Paris. Piet was a painter. Not so much a chair designer. However he was a highly influential member of the Dutch De Stijl group of architects, artists and designers. Another prominent member of the movement was Gerrit Rietveld. So Piet Mondrian (who was born as Piet Mondriaan) is a welcome addition to my Chairchez L’Homme – or Search the man with a chair – category.

I must have been under the rocks … Only this week Yatzer pointed me to the Cul is Cool Tour. It started last year at ICFF in NYC and arrived at Valencia Design Week this year.

So I came across “Furniture Publisher” (I would prefer furniture label) ABR again – see Cul Stool by ABR and Sitting Pretty in Berlin – and HAT Gallery a new Spanish Gallery.

It always amazes me how good photography can tell a very good story of a product, in this case a stool, the Cul Stool. It is also amazing that ABR itself doesn’t pimp up its own website a bit more with larger size photos….
