Today the Brit Insurance nominations for 2011 were published (their date mentions January 17, though, but there seemed a little error in the publication).
Among the nominations in the furniture devision is this Vigna Chair by Martino Gamper for Magis.

Thomas Heatherwick wins London Design Medal 2010
Thomas Heatherwick, known from his extruded benches has been awarded the London Design Medal 2010 at the occasion of London Design Festival 2010. It’s
given to a designer who has made a significant contribution to design and London having achieved international acclaim for their work. This year, Thomas Heatherwick has been awarded the Medal in recognition of his outstanding contribution to design.
The bench was a contender for the 2010 Brit Insurance Award as well.

El Ultimo Grito’s Composite bench system for UNO was nominated for the Brit Insurance Furniture Award 2009
“It is very hard to come up with a new typology in furniture and more often than not the result remains very strongly in the realm of a suggestion to rethink existing options, but rarely does a new configuration present itself as a useful addition to the family of furniture. The composite bench/sofa does so by merging the bench height table structure with elements of upholstery.”

100 Chairs in 100 Days wins Brit Insurance Award
March 13th, 2008 100 Chairs in 100 Days by Martino Gamper is one of seven category winners for the first Brit Insurance Design of the Year Awards, organised by the Design Museum in London. Gamper’s project, which saw him create new furniture from found items, won in the furniture category.
