Chester

Picture Gallery of Chester by Established and Sons

The Chester sofa’s organic form contradicts the traditional sofa shape. The cantilevered and curved base is constructed from gloss polyester and has taken inspiration from the subtle angles regularly employed in car design. The Chester is clearly an architectural design that at once speaks of the famous aesthetic of its celebrated designer, Amanda Levete. Chester is intended for use as a chaise longue and is equally happy freestanding in the centre of a room as it is on the periphery. It is suited to both retail and hotel environments and is often employed as a feature piece.

West seating or bench by Amanda Levete for Established & Sons

The poor old corner is an often neglected domestic space, rejected the world over for its awkward angles and despised even in Feng Shui culture as bringing bad luck to anyone unfortunate enough to be stuck in one. But one man’s trash is another man’s treasure and the first lady of Future Systems, Amanda Levete, has donned her designer`s hat and taken up the plight of the corner in her latest project. ˜Around the Corner” is Levet’s first solo exhibition, presented by Established & Sons LIMITED, for whom she has previously designed two of the company’s best-selling products, the Chester sofa and Drift series. Featuring four limited edition pieces the architect-designer has tackled all the practical and aesthetic complexities inherent in right angled-spaces head-on.
