white monobloc plastic chair: SERIES OF FOUND/OLD/DECAYING GARDEN CHAIRS STARTED IN 2002. THE CHAIRS ARE INDIVIDUALLY PERFORATED AND SANDED IN ORDER TO GIVE EACH ONE A NEW LIFE AND MAKE IT COLLECTIBLE.

The monobloc, a mass product made into a limited edition raises the question of its material and immaterial, societal, cultural, aesthetical and ethical values.

The monobloc’s charm lies in its democratic concept – it’s the most sold chair worldwide, everyone can own it. The project is an attempt to reveal the beauty of that idea and to make visible what lies beneath the surface.

Collection (2002-2009), old and rare monobloc models, polypropylene,
individually perforated (up to ten thousand holes each), sanded by hand.
Various sizes. Numbered limited edition of 33 unique pieces, 2009

White Billion Chairs is being distributed via Appel Design Gallery, Berlin.
