Gelitin is an Austrian art collective based in Vienna, composed of Wolfgang Gantner, Ali Janka, Florian Reither, and Tobias Urban. Officially formed in 1993, the group creates performances, installations, and sculptures combining irreverent humor, spontaneity, and audience participation. Their practice explores the boundaries between art and life, inviting viewers to become co-creators. The collective has become a major figure in the international contemporary art scene, notably representing Austria with a pavilion at the La Biennale di Venezia in 2011. Winners of the Austrian Art Prize in 2021, they continue to develop a free and experimental oeuvre where play, collaboration, and transgression challenge artistic and social conventions.
