Teak and iron chair, designed by Pierre Jeanneret and dating back to circa 1953-1954, features a solid sculpted teak seat and backrest. The backrest is slightly tilted and carved with intricate patterns. The seat is also carved from teak and supported by a double-leg assembly made of either “Z” or “N”-type iron rods. These rods are connected by a front rail, forming a crosspiece at the bottom. The iron rods are painted black to complement the overall design. This particular model was part of Pierre Jeanneret’s house in Chandigarh and is now a part of the collection at the City Museum.
