TRÅD Chair by Astrid Tolnov Larsen

TRÅD Chair by Astrid Tolnov Larsen

The ear flap chair is often set in the context of heavy upholstery furniture. This type of chair, aims to create a safe and undisturbed space in the space of the user. In this project, work has been done to create a light and open construction that preserves the good and safe qualities of the ear flap chair. The frame of the chair is designed so that the user is lifted away from the cold metal construction. In this way, the user’s body is only in contact with the chair’s hot materials -hearing flagline and oil treated ash.

Update:
Some people seem not to believe you can sit in the chair. Therefor I add Astrid herself seated in the very chair:

Black Sketch Chair by Kiki and Joost

Black Sketch Chair by Kiki and Joost

Kiki van Eijk lives in a peaceful farmhouse in Eindhoven and works in a warehouse where she makes fantastical things. She looks at the delicate small details of nature with joy and delight and uses colors with uncommon intuition. Her beliefs? Imagination is more important than knowledge! She is never in a hurry.
Joost van Bleiswijk is a prolific Dutch designer who gives great value to the process of making. He grew up in Delft, and studied at the Design Academy of Eindhoven, where he met his future partner, Kiki van Eijk.
Joost welds, saws, screws and constructs. He casts and moulds. In short: he makes. The workshop as his kingdom where design unfolds. What truly defines him? Interest in the construction of the objects and a quite physical approach. And with only one rule: never follow trends!
