Top Posts Half June – Half July 2012

Chairblog Top posts as per our Feedburner stats. Luckily the number of views of the top 5 posts went up a bit, because our stats as per Google Analytics in the period Half June – Half July vs Half May – Half June 2012 went down:

Visits 31,871 vs 38,221 went down as well as our page views 76,761 vs 92,794.

Hosting was almost flawless. Either the summer, the Penquin revision of Google, the fact that we abandoned our translation plugin, or the fact that we post less or less quality stuff or a combination plays a role. I don’t know. You?

Anyway, I’ll try to publish more in the second half of July and hope to see all you back soon!

Based on Google analytics our stats went down 14 %
Visits: -14.24%: 33,731 (June 2012) vs 39,332 (May 2012)
Pageviews: -13.37%: 82,509 (June 2012) vs 95,245 (May 2012)

I’ve no other explanation than that in the same period last year the same happened. Maybe its the focus that moves away during the summer month. The server was very smooth this month without real issues. Or maybe we should just publish more posts…What would you suggest?

I’ve tried to fence it off by smuggling two days, but it didn’t help: Our number 1 post Chairs Suck! Good Chair Design is Impossible! stayed number 1;-)

Anyway, Our Visits at 36,694 went down as well as our page views at 89,675.

No excuses as our hosting was almost flawless.

Our May, 2012 Best

Our top 5 are based on our feedreader analytics.

Based on Google analytics our stats went down almost 10 %
Visits: May 38,963 vs April 43,182 -9.80%
Pageviews: May 93,955 vs April 103,572 -9.31%

Reasons I can think of this drastic decline are:

• The server problems and outings of the site in the first weeks of May must have played a role.
• Google changed its search algorithm again
• Google started reporting many errors due to the outings which I’m paying attention to slowly but gradually.
• I’ve changed the site a bit so that people are landing on error pages again, in stead of the home page in case of a 404. The main reason is for this change is to weed out the errors as much as possible…that will take some time

On a positive note the post Chairchill by Helmut Palla got 677 pageviews according to Google Analytics:

Stats time again based on our FeedBurner stats of the last 30 days, so it also covers half of April, 2012.

Total Number of visits a bit up in this period: 42,111 visits with lesser 101,757 vs 42,040 visits with with 103,469 page views for the corresponding Half March – Half April period.

Some severe server issues last 2 weeks that hopefully have been cured now….therefore less post.
