Logo Refreshed, Social Buttons added

It’s almost autumn. Sometimes when I was staring at the old logo, I found it a little bit too dark and a bit too depressing for autumn. Therefor I’ve decided to refresh it. Off course there is a Maarten van Severen Chair in the logo. This time my new muse is his MVS Chaise

So let’s say “Good Bye” to the old logo.

I’ve also added some social media buttons in the sidebar:

White Books Chair Installation Awarded

Last year I posted about the White Books Chair project of Enzo Iorio. Yesterday I received an e-mail from Enzo informing me that the installation had won the honors of the Cartasia Biennial of contemporary art, held in Lucca, Italia, with main focus on paper art. Congratulations Enzo!

Strap Your Stool together by Harry Hasson

The Strap It Stool by Harry Hassan is similar to but then completely different from the Vitra endorsed Chairless sitting strap.

Easy Chair by J.J.P. Oud

Recently the Rotterdam Boijmans Van Beuningen Museum bought this Tube Chair by Dutch architect and member of De Stijl Group: J.J.P. Oud.

Via the Dutch newspaper de Volkskrant [article gone and found again Volkskrant: Boijmans buys Chair 04…].

Two Red Chairs at Two Columbia Road

Two Columbia Road is a London based gallery specializing in a broad range of collectible furniture, associated design, works of art and photography from Scandinavia, Europe, and North America. Sometimes they have extra ordinary chairs for sale.

Here are two clearly Dutch 20ies Red Chairs they offer for sale. However 2 Columbia Road attributes them to the La Haye School, which to my view is wrong. The La Haye School is French for Haagse School or Hague School which is only about painters and not about furniture. Maybe they should be attributed to a member of De Stijl Group whose most prominent Chair designer was Gerrit Rietveld. Maybe this is a design by Theo van Doesburg or by J.J.P. Oud, both members of De Stijl who also designed chairs.
