Design: Krijn Hamelink Specifications for Noa chair (fourleg model): Options for Noa: laminated birch shell in melamine, natural varnished, color stained or upholstered. Tube size:  3/4. Steel frame: color epoxy finish, chrome finish or pearl matte chrome. The legs are fitted with floor gliders. Also available with armrests. Options: Hand truck, stacking trolley, handgrip in shell, fire-authorities approved connection system.

Our Designers
A highly-professional team of product designers and developers at VDS is responsible for our chairs and tables. Designer Krijn Hamelink has debuted a complete range of contemporary designs that respond to the ergonomic and stylish product needs of today’s market. After completing his training at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam in 1969, Krijn Hamelink worked for the prestigious Netherland design studio of Kho Liang Ie. There he developed his roots in design creativity and the use of new materials and innovative production techniques. Krijn has been with VDS since 2002, where he has designed the successful Quasi, Sari, Tapa and Ditto chairs and the Quote, Labda Flex and Polo tables. Krijn has won numerous prizes and awards for his chair designs including the Good Industrial Design which promotes excellence in industrial design.

History VDS Stalen Meubelen b.v. in The Netherlands has designed and produced quality project furniture for businesses and institutions since 1946. The company was founded by brothers Leo and Gijs van der Sluis. Gijs set up production and contributed his passion for functional design. Leo was responsible for general management and marketing. Today the company still has the same mission: to design and manufacture innovative and surprising collections with character. It is led by Gijs’ son, Nick van der Sluis, who is also CEO and chairman of VDS International where he directs the company along with Carsten Holmdie, President and COO.

As of January 1, 2018 Van der Sluis combined forces with Casala.
