Polish designer Jakub (Kuba) Szczęsny of Centrala Design has another take on concrete canvas as material for a chair. He simply put the cloth in cardboard tubes and wetted them.
The chair was developped in a designers in residence program Rooted Design for Routed living, bringing together Norwegian and Polish designers.
Here is an extensive interview with him. It is clear Jakub is inspired by the Dutch Ruff:

Our post on Mr. Smith the Second chair by Anthony Hartley sparked a conversation about the chair’s noticeable resemblance to the iconic Wiggle side chair designed in 1972 by Frank Gehry.
Today the Chair Blog is ready to answer your questions, with the help of Mr. Hartley himself:
“Frank was the first chair I made with a reference to Frank Gehry’s Wiggle from the Easy Edges line. The Mr. Smith and Mr. Smith the Second reference the Paul Smith stripes.”
Big thanks to Anthony for stepping in and helping us out!

And one more design from Andrew Kopp I just had to post about – the One Legged Stool. How would you use one?
More successful designs from Andrew Kopp: Concept Bench, Shell Bench and a Museum Bench.
The Museum Bench is made of white ash and patina steel and has been recently purchased by RISD Museum for use as a public seating at their new ancient gallery area. The RISD Museum Bench‘s dimensions are: 48” x 17” x 17”.
