The Q3 system, designed by 7n3 Design, looks like a Rubik’s Cube, but in this instance the challenge isn’t to line up the colors, but to make a comfortable seat. Q3 can easily be transformed from a cube into an armchair with side table (using the hard side) or ottoman (using the soft side).
2D/3D Chairs by Yoichi Yamamoto for Issey Miyake
When viewed from outside an Issey Miyake store in Tokyo, the blue chairs installed in the shop’s window by Japanese architect Yoichi Yamamoto appear to be just another collection of ordinary chairs, but in reality, they’re just wooden backs fixed to the floor – it’s the legs painted onto the ground that, from a fixed angle, appear in the correct perspective and make the chairs look whole. The installation is called 2D/3D Chairs.

Chairs in Words
Lazy Football by Emanuele Magini
While we’re still on the subject of Emanuele Magini, let me share another design that caught my eye – the Lazy Football chair. Just like most of Emanuele’s creations, the chair combines two worlds into one: the active game of outdoor football meets the lazier version of watching the sport at home. Inspired by the evolution of the designer’s love of football, Lazy Football is undoubtedly a chair for adults in touch with their inner child, and even though it’s not positioned as kids’ furniture, it’s easy to imagine it in a children’s room. Sold on Garage Design website.
Size: 70 x 43 x 90 cm
