England’s Dreaming Chaise by FAT

I had to show this to you as it was on exposition at the Stroom Gallery here in The Hague, my hometown, while I wasn’t aware of it…

England’s Dreaming is an antique chaise that is enveloped at one end by a miniature landscape juxtaposing scales and visual references. Lie back and think of England.

Tuyomyo Bench by Frank Gehry

I featured Emeco’s Tuyomyo Bench by Frank Gehry earlier, but got a special from Emeco after I had asked for a photo of Frank Gehry and Emeco’s owner together on the Tuyomyo Bench. That was published in a Wallpaper* issue of last year. Alas it was copyrighted, but now I have a second best: The Tuyomyo Bench with the daughter of the owner as a model:-)

Lot Notes
Fashioned from a rectangular panel of fibreglass cloth, the form of the chair is determined by the actions of the individual production operator. The supple resin-impregnated cloth is suspended from wires or cables to suggest the basic form of the chair, whilst the impression of the seat itself is determined by the contours of the operative’s own body. The mass then hardens to an individually-determined form. Bracciodiferro was a studio product line of Italian furniture manufacturer Cassina, responsible for a brief series of objects intended to underscore the contradictions between designers and industry.

Indexhibit (1) – Eric Ku

As I saw Eric Ku (see for his chair Mission no 2) do, I see designers and artists present their portfolios online using Indexhibit from Index and Exhibit, which is

A web application used to build and maintain an archetypal, invisible website format that combines text, image, movie and sound.

Originally it was developed by Daniel Eatock in collaboration with Jeffery Vaska who resides at tatiret.

They estimate the web application has been applied over 10,000 times already. It is a cheap way of promoting your portfolio for a designer.
