All of a sudden and totally unexpected my now former hosting company decided to kick me from their server.

They did this to you and me without any prior warning…..#Fail.
They claim that Chair Blog burdened their server too much over the last couple of days…while nothing had changed significantly. So my suspicion is their server or software had become a bit obsolete.

Actually this is a big THANK YOU to my readership! You have made this blog very popular by your frequent visits.

As a consequence Chair Blog will be in disorder for some time and many photos cannot be found.

Update
I’ve now figured out that part of the problem is the way I put the link to photos in my posts. I’ve changed a couple of posts now, but the rest will only be visible in a couple of days when the Domain Chairblog.eu has moved to my new host as well.

In an attempt to accelerate the loading speed of Chair Blog I’ve:

1. Said Good Bye to the Feedjit Widget which loads very poorly from time to time.
2. Set the number of posts on one page back to 5 rather than 10.
3. Removed the faces from the Face Book widget, and
4. Removed the faces from the Networked Blogs widget
5. Re installed the W3 Cache plugin

Avarage load time decreased by 1/2 to 3/4 sec to 3.40 seconds….

Yesss!!!

Finally I succeeded to import 920 old posts from June 2008 and earlier from my Posterous blog in one go here after updating to WordPress 3.0.
Now off to refine those 920 posts all titled “untitled”…. I’ll keep you posted when that will be finished…might take a couple of months. Read the whole story at the Chairblog | Tumblr page.

Oh Yes, and before I forget to mention I’m back to the 10 posts per page schedule.
