The best of Chair Blog in September 2012

In September, 2012, I count 58 posts.

According too Google Analytics: We got 44,163 visits and 102,822 page views.

In August, 2012, visits amounted to 40,478 and page views to 143,001.

The best 5 mentioned above are based on our Feedburner stats. Probably now really the last post based on these stats. On October 20, 2012 the Feedburner API will be discontinued…The stats were facing problems this month already during a couple of days.

Jetpack top 3

On August 15, 2012, I’ve installed the Jetpack WordPress plugin with some stats. Here below the top 3 according to those stats (less to not clutter the post too much):

The best of Chair Blog Half August – Half September, 2012

Each and every time I start a post in our Top Chair Blog Posts series, the outcome is a surprise for me. This post is number 30 of the series.

The best 6 are again based on our Feedburner stats. In my previous post I mentioned I had installed the Jetpack WordPress plugin and anticipated that would be the last post based on the Feedburner stats. I was wrong clearly. It turns out we have a very closely knit group of (currently 1432) followers via Feedburner, who read our posts often, but only click through to the site every second (on average) time they open their feadreader. So I will continue to use these stats, because their attention would not be counted in other stats of clicks or page views.

Visits: 45,426 vs 39,444 in the corresponding prior period (+15.17%).
Pageviews: 114,178 vs 133,386 (-14.40%).

Although the number of pageviews went down, I see the line going up again slowly, but gradually, as there were a couple of peak days in the prior period, as for instance:
July 26: 9,896 pageviews.
August 9: 9,902 pageviews.
August 14: over 11,00 pageviews.
All peaks had to do with one or another high profile blog or site picking up one of our posts.

These peaks have leveled out now the last 30 days.

In August, 2012, we’ve aired 55 posts, we got 41,561 visits and 145,693 page views.
July, 2012, visits amounted to 36,555 and page views to 86,084.

As usual, The best 5 mentioned are based on our Feedburner stats, but probably this is the last post based on these our Feedburner stats: On August 15, 2012, I’ve installed the Jetpack WordPress plugin that comes with a nifty stats program and with social sharing buttons that hopefully don’t cause similar issues as the former share plugin did.

So the next top post will probably be based on those Jetpack stats together with our Google Analytics….

Speaking of Google Analytics…

The following post of August got more page views in August, 2012, than those mentioned above:

There are more posts with more views, but I have a slight feeling that was due to a plugin hiccup…. Half September we will have 30 days of stats bot with Google Analytics and Jetpack and we will see it they compare….

Top 5 Posts Half July – Half August, 2012

Above Chairblog Top 5 posts as per our Feedburner stats.

Huzzay: The downwards trend has turned upward.

Visits 39,048 vs 31,871 (+22.52%), and
Page views 126,386 vs 76,761 (+64.65%)

Hosting was almost flawless. So hopefully the downward trend was due to the summer.

It is also possible that some events like the mention of us on the Gizmodo FaceBook page I mentioned in Top Posts of July, 2012 plays a role.

Other stats:

There were several posts that got many more pageviews according to Google Analytics than those mentioned here above: Be it from FaceBook references or Pinterest references…

Chairblog’s best in July, 2012.

August already! It didn’t register yet with me. Time flies.

As usual per our Feedburner stats. While editing this post, the date of Feedburner stats moved on one day. I’ve learned now that I should post this in the afternoon my time, rather than in the morning as I used to do. Hope I remember.

Visits went up! 36,555 vs 33,781 Also our page views 86,084 vs 82,669.

Different stats give different outcome.

Although stats went up, it is very well possible that this is due to a one time spike.

What happened is that Gizmodo picked up one of our posts and and gave us kudos on their FaceBook page. Subsequently Gizmodo placed two two of our finds on their blog.

With as a result:

– Our post Priceless Chair getting a whopping 2,928 page views in July..

Gizmodo’s FB kudos got over 1,000 shares on FB and if you look at the post it got plenty of FB likes, pins and tweets…

After publishing I notice there are more posts that got more page views than the ones per our Feedburner stats:
